Faith

Faith is you believing in something when the rest of the world does not believe in it, or tells you not to believe in it. It is strength in the absurd as Kierkegaard would say. It is this amazing belief that despite all rational feelings, all consistent pangs of fear, somehow, someway, what you want will happen, what you believe will come true.

As life goes on, we all experience such tumultuous turbulent moments, which just makes you want to give up. It makes you want to quit. You start to become fearful. You believe that everything you want will not happen, and everything you dream of is impossible. Faith is the opposite of that paranoia; faith vanquishes that type of fear. It’s the hint that a small miracle is around the corner; even though you cannot see it- you can feel it.

I want to believe again, I want my heart to be full of faith. I no longer want to be afraid. I do not want to give up. I want to banish the fear inside my heart and mind, except for the instinctual and intuitive fear that protects us from the unknown evil in the world.

Faith is something I learn more of everyday, and forget everyday. But I think the beauty of this, the reason for what may seem to be a negative destructive cycle- the loss of faith- is that faith grows everyday with our subjection to the daily and difficult trials. We learn to believe in the miracles that come as a result of our faith. We learn to be faithful in the meantime. And when it comes down to it, that is a distinctive and essential feature of faith- believing and enduring whatever may come your way in the meantime, while you wait for your (what may seem like) impossible dream to unfold before you.

Hello!

I actually should have published entries to this blog a couple of months ago, but unfortunately I was hit with computer problems! Now it’s a new year, and I am all set with a new PC, so here is a collection of blog entries I have been working on. As I said in my Hello World post, this blog will be about life in general, the pitfalls we all face trying to navigate our way through this complex thing that is life! I hope it can help you navigate your way through the January blues and beyond!! Enjoy

Hello World!

I am going to try to write about philosophy from a personal perspective that deals with the dilemmas, questions and moments within human life everyday. So, this is not academic philosophy. I may touch upon some of the great philosophers work, discuss important philosophical concepts. But really, I am most interested in how we deal with this crazy thing called life. It’s not easy. There are of course ups and downs; but equally the world is filled with all of these wondrous moments, and many miracles. All you need to know about me, is that I am 24 years old, and I want to live my life to the fullest and enjoy  each  distinctive moment. In the process however, I will ask  some  of the challenging questions, to deal with all the perplexing and evil moments I witness along the way. My hope is that in my own personal philosophising, I can equally help you come to terms with the conflicting moments in your life and in this world. In this way, my blog has been succinctly and adeptly titled: Philosophy4u– enjoy.
